табы "Sunshine Adagio In D Minor"
Hi, leave a comment if you like it! BPM: ~60, Standart Tuning Introduction: I recommend you find a good strategy at picking - I used finger picking, mainly because the "plong" sound of muted strings when striking all strings with a plectrum isn't occurring, but also because of easier accent on certain notes. You may also find another possibility, like single-picking notes with plectrum. Just try and choose what suits you best, or sounds best for you. The rhythm is very simple; it's either quarter notes (crotchets) or eighth notes (quavers) at certain transitions. Just listen to the song on YouTube to find out. (I'm telling you this solely for you to get a feeling for the speed of the song, taking the bpm at ~60 into account; obviously you can use any rhythm you like) It may be tricky at times to keep the rhythm and correct chord changes, because the shifts in chords can be very subtle. Be sure to stay in correct BPM and have an overview over what you're playing at that moment. (I'm telling you this solely for you to get a feeling for the speed of the song, taking the bpm at ~60 into account; obviously you can use any rythm you like) Search this name and find the version I was tabbing from on YouTube: "John Murphy - Sunshine (Adagio In D Minor)" It's exactly 4:30 minutes long and it will help you adjust. I wrote some timestamps on significant parts of the song to make orientation easier. For all parts: You can play either two times the same chord in a row: e|19--19| h|15--15| g|-x---x| d|17--17| a|------| e|------| or you may play this: e|19--17| h|15--15| g|-x---x| d|17--17| a|------| e|------| What you do is really up to you, but I tend to the latter one. It sounds nicer, but not exactly like the record (the first one does neither). I think this is due to layering of violins in the original soundtrack, something you can't do with one guitar. The only time the second option actually is the only valid one is in the part "Melody begins again" below, I marked it with a *. Summary: -First Part -Piano "Breakdown" -Melody begins again -Voiceover -Ending First Part: 0:40 <-> 1:59 e|-------------------------3--3--5--7--7--5--3--3--7--5---15--15--17--19--19| h|---------------------7---x--x--x--x--x-(7)-x--x--x-(7)--12--13--13--15--15| g|0--0--4--2--4--5--7--x---4--5--5--7--7--7--4--5--7--7---12--12--12---x---x| d|2--2--x--4--x--2--x--4---5--5--5--5--4--4--5--5--5--4---------------17--17| a|2--3--5--5--5--3--5--5----------------------------------------------------| e|------3-----3-----3-------------------------------------------------------| Piano "Breakdown": Just play the two sixteenth / semiquaver notes for the duration of one bar. 1:59 <-> 2:32 e|--------------------------------------------------------------| h|--------------------------------12------13------12------12----| g|----------------------------------12------12------12------11--| d|-9------10------12------12------------------------------------| a|--10------10------14------12----------------------------------| e|--------------------------------------------------------------| Melody begins again: 2:16 <-> 2:32 ...................*. e|17--15--17--19--17| Rhythm of the last two chords: 6 times first one, h|12--12--13--15--15| 2 times last one (on the beat) g|12--12--12---x---x| d|------------17--16| a|------------------| e|------------------| This small part is played together with the second half of the piano part above. There are many nuances in this song that are accessible by changing for example a muted string into a note you find more fitting in context of the whole chord, or simply to add a more full "ring" to the sound. Furthermore, you may, towards the end of the song, ignore some of the lower notes. But that's really your decision. I tried my best with this tab, I hope you appreciate it - sadly, the full potential of this song really needs an orchestra, with multiple layers of string instruments that fill the air with their constant humming.
