I really like Christmas
          F C
It's sentimental, I know, but I just really like it
C
I am hardly religious
           F C

                G G7
And yes, I have all of the usual objections to consumerism
                                         F
To the commercialisation of an ancient religion to the westernisation of a dead Palestinian
                                           C
Press-ganged into selling Playstations and beer
                   G G6 G7
But I still really like it

C
I'm looking forward to Christmas
                 F C
Though I'm not expecting a visit from Jesus
                  G
I'll be seeing my dad
   G7 E7/F Am
My brother and sisters, my gran and my mum
           Am/G F7M
They'll be drinking white wine in the sun
                  G
I'll be seeing my dad
   G7 E7/F Am
My brother and sisters, my gran and my mum

They'll be drinking white wine in the sun

                F C
I don't believe just 'cos ideas are tenacious it means they're worthy
C
I get freaked out by churches
            F Fm C
Some of the hymns that they sing have nice chords but the lyrics are dodgy

               G
And yes I have all of the usual objections
              G7 F
To the mis-education of children who, in tax-exempt institutions,
Are taught to externalise blame
                                                           C
And to feel ashamed and to judge things as plain right and wrong
                     G G6 G7
But I quite like the songs

C
I'm not expecting big presents
             F C
The old combination of socks, jocks and chocolate's is just fine by me

This is a beautiful song to both listen to and play along to, however, being that it is the key of F, it is
hard work on the wrist, as you'd know, to play constant barre chords. So I decided to transpose what I had
worked out using a capo in the 5th fret. I stole this idea from Tim himself as there is a YouTube video of
him performing this song with Brian Cox on piano and Tim on guitar using a capo.

I find it much more enjoyable to play along to this way. Hope you enjoy. Please let me know if there's
anything you think might be wrong with it as I'm always grateful for constructive critisism. Cheers!
