G -> G7 chord transition The easiest way to make the G -> G7 chord transition is if you are playing the G with ring finger on the low e string, middle on the a string, and pinky on the high e. playing without your pointer on that one chord makes the switch much easier and comfortable, from here all the switch is, is lifting the pinky and placing the pointer on the first fret of the high e string. Strumming pattern(s) d - down u - up normally throughout the song is d,d,u,u,d,u,d,d,u,u,d,u.. repeat I have a question part d, d,u,d d,u,d d,u,d ( sound like a horse running kinda :P) :) it's just a lil' different a few more chords thrown in there. BTW I DO NOT know the name of G or Dm7 i used the chord name g1 in ignorance and for ease. sue me.
