The Highwaymen, five young college students who captured an international
audience through their outstanding presentation of folk music, hold the
unique distinction of becoming a show business legend with their very
first recording. For not only did "Michael" sell over 1,000,000 records,
but it became a musical by-word wherever music was played and heard
throughout the world. (Re-produced from the notes on the back of the
original United Artists Extended Play 45 rpm record, released in 1959.

The band line-up: Steve Butts, Bass Guitar; Chan Daniels, Guitar, Charango
and baritone vocals; Bobby Trott, Guitar, Bongos & Maracas, and tenor
vocals; Steve Trott, Guitar and tenor vocals; Dave Fisher, Guitar, Banjo,
Recorder and Bongos, and lead tenor vocals.

The band was still performing until 2009, with the last two surviving
members, Steve Trott and Steve Butts.
