I went through the effort of tabbing out the exercises and licks in episode three (Josh Homme
of Queens Of The Stone Age) of Noisey's series Guitar Moves. Just for you. Tell your friends.

Exercise one:
Intro Riff (00:00 - 00:35)
It's a pretty simple riff. Josh noodled over it a bit, but I didn't tab that as it's just
improvisation and it would have been a pain in the neck. If it's from a song there's probably
already a better tab of it, but I don't know what song it is.

Exercise two:
The Polka (01:02 - 01:26)
Don't use a pick. You play the bass notes with your thumb and the other three strings (D, G, B)
with your index, middle and ring finger.

Exercise three:
Subtractive Barre Chord Riff (02:42 - 02:49)
For those of you who didn't know, that's the correct way to spell barre chord. NOT "bar" chord.
It's still pronounced "bar" though. Don't be that guy who says "barray" chords. Don't be that
guy.

Enough of all this "breaking the rules" gubbins, it's a Lydian Dominant scale (Lydian with a
flat 7).
